Foreign agencies grabbed most of the 2008 Golden Bell prizes for advertising given away by the Vietnam Advertising Association at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on December 14.

The awards were given in six categories -- television, radio broadcast, print media, online media, outdoor advertising, and brand recognition.
There were also awards for conforming to Vietnamese culture.
The KFC ad by Dong Nam and O&M Company took top honors.
Vinamilk world by Dong Nam (Southeast) Film Production Limited Company got the award for skill and Kotex Style by O&M got for music.
An ad on helmets for children by O&M received the award for conforming to Vietnamese culture.
The prizes for brand recognition, print media, online, radio broadcast, and outdoor advertizing were respectively given to PhuNhuan Jewelry Joint Stock Company, JWT advertising company for Knorr Chili, O&M for Pond’s Destiny, and JWT and ICP household company for Knorr Husband.
Participating in the awards function were Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Do Quy Doan; deputy chairwoman of the city People’s Committee, Nguyen Thi Hong; editor-in-chief of SGGP, Tran The Tuyen; deputy editor in chief of Lao Dong (labour) newspaper, Vu Manh Cuong, and representatives of the Asian Advertising Association and Vietnamese ad industry.
