Child folk music singer sets new Vietnam Guinness record

The Vietnam Book of Records (Vietkings) awarded the title “Youngest Folk Music Singer” to a 6-year-old girl, Tu Thanh.

The little talented girl was introduced to traditional music early and has a passion for the folk music. Her performances using genres of folk music, such as Xam (northern street folk music), Cheo (northern traditional music), Xoan (ancestor worship singing), Ca Tru (northern ceremonial singing) and Vong Co (Southern Vietnamese folk songs performed in the cai luong opera) absolutely persuaded the jury members during the 2016 Television game shows for children, Nguoi hung ti hon (Tiny heroes).

Meanwhile, the brothers, Minh Quang and Minh Nhut were recognized as the youngest dancers in the country by the Vietnam Guinness Book of Records Center in the 2015 competition.
