City kicks off ASEAN cultural exchange program with folktales

The Center for Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Studies under Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City in collaboration with artists from ASEAN countries held a storytelling festival under theme of “ASEAN Cultural Exchange through folktales” at HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities on March 1.

The event is considered as a useful playground for students, researchers, story-lovers and those students who paid attention to Southeast Asian Studies major, folk & culture, folk & literature and the art of storytelling that will bring together famous international storytellers.

Attractive exchange programs aiming to introduce Vietnam and southern region’s cultures, ASEAN folktale performance under theme of “Peace and rice”, storytelling skill workshop to share folktales from ASEAN countries, the UK, Germany, the US, Romania, Denmark and others took place during the cultural festival.
