Classical and jazz concerts in Hanoi over weekend

A concert featuring famous works of Mahler and Webern will be held at the Hanoi Opera House on October 12-13.

The artists of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra will perform classical compositions including the Passacaglia op.1 by Anton Webern and the Symphony No.7 of Gustav Mahler under the baton of Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji.

Tickets are priced from VND200, 000-VND500, 000.

In addition, the Swing Quartet will give a Jazz-Accordion concert at the French Cultural Center, L'Espace, on October 13.

The concert will bring to audiences swing tunes of famous French composers such as Gus Viseur, Marcel Azzola and Richard Galliano.

The concert is performed by the young accordion player Thibault DILLE, winner of the renowned Toots Thielemans Award, Bruxelles 2010, and remaining members of the Swing Quartet, namely, pianist Tien Manh, contrabassist Christophe Hache and percussionist Nguyen Hung Cuong.

The group was established in 2010 in Hanoi.

Tickets are priced from VND60,000 to VND120,000.
