Colossal Christmas Log Cake Coming

Dam Sen Park in Ho Chi Minh City and the Hy Lam Mon Bakery are to make a colossal log cake, a traditional Christmas cake which is decorated as a Christmas log.

The log cake will be shared by all visitors to the Park.
The cake is to weigh five tons, measure 22 meters in length and 1.2 meters across, require 606 kilograms of flour, 1,000 kilos of sugar, 3kg of vegetable oil, 110kg of milk, 45kg of chocolate, 40 kg of butter, 60kg of jam and 800 kg of fresh cream.

More than 100 bakery employees are expected to take four days to finish the Buche de noel.

The cake is to go on display in Dam Sen Park, December 24, and remain there for the festive season – or until someone eats it, presumably. It is then to be shared by all visitors to the Park.

Log-cake collaborators joined hands previously, last year, to set the then-current record for making log cakes, a buche weighing six tons and measuring 22 meters in length and 1.1 meters across.
