Comic Strip History Exhibition Celebrates 50th Anniversary of EU

An exhibition entitled “Comic strip history” will take place at the French Cultural Center L'Escape, at 24 Trang Tien St, in Ha Noi from now until April 7 to mark the European Union’s 50th anniversary.

The exhibition is an opportunity for people to explore the world of French, Belgian and Vietnamese comic strips.

Belgian artist Eddy Coubeaux, who is living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, will present works he has had published in Viet Nam.

The exhibition will also display works by Vietnamese artists Ta Huy Long and Pham Huy Thong, highlighting their creative techniques and the vitality of Vietnamese cartoons.

Ta Huy Long graduated from the Industrial Arts University in 1998 and is well-known for the hundreds of comic strips he has created for teenagers. He is now the Arts Editor at the Kim Dong Publishing House.

Pham Huy Thong also graduated from the Industrial Arts University in 2004 and took part in cartoon projects as well as illustrating books and magazines. He is now a teacher at the Ha Noi University of Architecture.

The show is co-organized by the French Cultural Center L'Escape and the Wallonia-Brussels delegation in Viet Nam
