Famous French Pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet performed works of classical music to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hennessy program in Ha Noi on May 26. His performance spellbound thousands of audiences in the Opera House.
He performed R. Schumann’s immortal works of Arabessque and Symphonic Etude in part I. Part II inclueded works of romantic valse. He ended the concert with the Gaspard de lanuid of Maurice Ravel. The concert was telecast live on an outdoor 500 inch TV.
Thibaudet is one of the world's great pianists with more than 30 recordings to his name (and more in the works) and hundreds of concert appearances.
He was awarded the 2003 Choc de la Musique with his newest release of a 5-CD box set entitled "Satie: The Complete Solo Piano Music", and his first collaborative recording with soprano Renée Fleming won the best Lieder Recital Award at Germany’s 2002 Echo Classical Music Awards.
His playing can also be heard on the soundtracks of the film "Portrait of a Lady” and of the feature film on Alma Mahler entitled "Bride of the Wind".
