“Viet Nam’s Flying Wings” Kite Festival

This third kite festival will see many unique kites from HCMC.

Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) will send 240 kites of 42 categories to the third kite festival themed “Viet Nam’s Flying Wings”, held at the Hue Festival 2006 on June 3-11. The kite festival is a chance for the country’s regions to exchange the kite arts.

Beside flying kites at Ngo Mon square and Thuan An beach, there is also a venue for displaying kites, teaching children how to make a kite, introducing the art of kite making.

The festival will see many unique kites from HCMC (mainly made by Phuong Hoang kite club, District 8), in shapes such as national flag, dragon, the city’s symbol, eagle, magpie, sailing ship, chrysanthemum butterfly, sun, dragonfly, etc.
