A four day cultural week presenting images, destinations and tourism potential of the Mekong Delta provinces opened at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts in Hanoi on November 16.

The event is one of the activities marking the National Tourism Year 2016 which will be held in the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang.
The cultural week was kicked off with an art performance honoring cultural heritages in the Mekong Delta region.
An area for the cultural space displaying cultural identity, historical relics, and landscapes, heritage sites of provinces through photos, artifacts, art models and traditional art performances is also set up.
The event include an exhibition on agricultural tools, living supplies, boats, clothes, musical instruments; traditional art performance, folk games of ethnic minorities Kinh, Cham, Khmer and Hoa; food festival and a workshop on "Preserving Cultural Heritage and Tourism of the Mekong Delta".
