A caretaker of the Chua Thuong Ngan Temple in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong donated a replica of a Dong Son bronze drum to the Hung King Temple in Prenn Falls tourist area on December 29.

Cung Van Duoc, 78, bought the 1-meter-high, 100kg drum from the UNESCO Center for Researching and Preserving Vietnamese Antiques.

The Management Board of Prenn Falls said the drum will be displayed at the temple and used in special ceremonies.

Earlier, two drums, one original and one reproduction which were gifted by the UNESCO Center for Researching and Preserving Vietnamese Antiques, were stolen from the Hung King Temple on December 24.

In 2006, Duoc also donated all of the furniture from the Holy Mother Temple to Hung King Temple.
