“Doll’s House” Program Receives Warm Responses

Representative of The Asian High School (R) supported VND20 million to organization board.

Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Training and Education has launched “Doll’s House” program at schools throughout the city to collect dolls. The Ho Chi Minh City branch of Education Publishing House (EPH) donated VND10 million and 200 presents of textbooks, Vietnam National Tobacco Cooperation (Vinataba) handed over VND10 million and The Asian High School supported with VND20 million to the program.

In response to the “Doll’s House” Program which organized by the Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper, Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Training and Education has just sent documents to Department Training and Education of Districts and principals of schools in the city to call on students to collect dolls for the program.

The students should attach to their dolls a short piece of writing about the doll’s origin, their feeling toward the doll and a few words to the new owners. Those dolls will be sent to the organization board on May 15, 2006.

On April 24, 2006, The Asian High School supported VND20 million and Vietnam National Tobacco Cooperation (Vinataba) donated VND10 million. The Ho Chi Minh City branch of Education Publishing House (EPH) handed over VND10 million and 200 presents of textbooks to poor students.

Until the evening of April 24, the total amount of money collected was VND214 million. Organization board will also give dolls to sick children in Ho Chi Minh City Pediatrics Hospitals I and II on June 1, the International Children’s Day. Besides, the organization board will also give presents to those who would become mothers on June 1 in Tu Du Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital.
