Ex-French Ambassador’s documentary movie of Hanoi aired

A documentary movie of Hanoi filmed by former French Ambassador to Vietnam Jean Noel Poirier will be aired on VTV1 channel at 8:40 pm on October 8.

The 52-minute film titled Mon Hanoi (My Hanoi), is an exciting journey discovering corners of the capital with images of street vendors, culture, food, architecture, traffic and people.
The voice-over in Vietnamese of the documentary was performed by Jean Noel Poirier. His brother, Henri Luis Poirier was director the film.
Jean Noel Poirier learned Vietnamese when he was 20. The diplomat arrived in Vietnam for the first time in 1989. He worked as a Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City in 2000-2004 and as the French ambassador in Hanoi in 2012-2016.
The screening of the documentary aims to mark the capital’s Liberation Day (October 10).
