Exhibition of contemporary Vietnamese art held in Hanoi

The “Vietnam Eye: Contemporary Vietnamese Art” book presenting 56 Vietnamese emerging contemporary artists has just been released. The book and artworks of 19 out of artists have been displayed in an exhibition at Casa Italia, Hanoi.

The book and the exhibition offer an overview of one of the newest and most exciting scenes in the global art world. Vietnam has developed rapidly in the last ten years with a new generation of contemporary artists who balance cultural and social issues with a contemporary outlook as well as being aware of Vietnamese art history and international art world.

The book is edited by Ms. Serenella Ciclitira, founder of Parallel Contemporary Art and published by SKIRA, one of the world’s most renowned publishers of art books.

Meanwhile artworks of 19 artists, including Duy Phuong, Ha Manh Thang, Hoang Duong Cam, Lai Thi Dieu Ha, Le Brothers, Le Phi Long, Le Quy Tong, Le Thuy, Ly Hoang Ly, Nguyen Huy An, Nguyen Manh Hung, Nguyen The Hung, Nguyen The Son, Nguyen Tri Manh, Nguyen Van Du, Pham Tran Viet Nam, Trong Gia Nguyen, Uu Dam Tran Nguyen, Vu Duc Trung are selected by CEO of Saatchi Gallery, Nigel Hurst; Director of START, Niru Ratnam; Serenella Ciclitira and artist Tran Luong.

The event will include a series of satellite exhibitions, which will take place at nest by AIA in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The satellite exhibitions will combine artist presentations and educational workshops for children and families.

The exhibition will run until January 13.
