Foreign filmmakers to participate in the 20th Vietnam Film Festival

International filmmakers from Hong Kong (China), Poland and South Korea are invited to participate in the jury of the ASEAN FILM Awards at the 20th Vietnam Film Festival, announced the organization board of the event.

South Korean film producer Jonathan Hyong-Joon Kim is well-known for one of the country's top highest grossing films, Silmido. The movie attracted nearly 10 million viewers. He has received the Daejong Award for Best Picture and Best Executive Producer in 2004.
Roger Garcia is Executive Director of the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society since 2010. He also became the Executive Director of the Asian Film Awards Academy upon its establishment in 2013. He has served as consultant and juror on many international film festivals in the US, Europe and Asia.
Karolina Bielawska is a director and scriptwriter in Warsaw, Poland. Her short films and documentaries have been shown and awarded at major film festivals in Poland and abroad.
The 20th Vietnam Film Festival will be held in Da Nang from November 24-28. The film fest aims to honor local cinematographic works featuring traditional characteristics, humanity and creativity; and pay tribute movie makers and artists who have made outstanding contributions to the national movie industry.
This year’s event themed “Building a modern human movie industry” will include activities, such as free outdoor screenings, Vietnamese film week, seminars the ASEAN film industry and then development of Vietnamese movie sector, an exhibition on Vietnamese cinema, exchanges between actors, directors, producers and audiences.
