Free screenings of Golden Kite Award-nominated films in HCM City

19 Golden Kite Award-nominated films will be screened for free at cinemas in Ho Chi Minh City, starting on April 3.

Free screenings will take place at cinemas, Cinebox, Cinestar Quoc Thanh, BHD Star Vincom Quang Trung, CGV Parkson Paragon from April 3-12.

Movies includes Ve si Sai gon (Saigon Bodyguards), Su menh trai tim (Mission for heart), Cho em den ngay mai (Waiting for you tomorrow), Cha cong con (Father and Son), Tam Cam-Chuyen chua ke (Tam Cam: The Untold Story),Tik Tak anh yeu em (Tik Tak, I Love You), 12 chom sao-Ve duong cho yeu chay (12 constellations: Drawing lines for Love runs), Fan cuong (Fanatic), Luc Van Tien-Tuyet dinh Kungfu (Luc Van Tien- Kungfu Hustle), Nang Tien co 5 nha (A Pretty Woman), Cao thu an danh (Anonymous), Chay di roi tinh (Run First), Bao Gio Co Yeu Nhau (When We Fall in Love), Loc Phat, Bao mau sieu quay (Babysitters).

The award ceremony of the 2016 Golden Kite Awards will be held at the Military Theater in Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Binh District on April 9.

The organization board received 118 cinematographic submissions in various categories, such as featured film, documentary, cartoon, and science; and 5 film studies and criticism, said Dang Xuan Hai, chair of the Vietnam Cinema Association at the event’s press conference on March 15.

Awards include the titles, “Golden Kite Award”, “Silver Kite Award”, “The jury award”, “Best director”, “Best cameraman”, “Best actor”, “Best actress”, “Best designer” and among to winners in every category.

Additionally, a screening program featuring Korean movies marking the 2016 Golden Kite Awards will take place at Cinebox from April 8-10.

The  Golden Kite  (Canh Dieu Vang) Awards is one of the annual the prestigious film award of the Vietnam Cinema Association
