French Literature Week opens in Hanoi

The French Literature Week themed “From Pages to Screens” is taking place at the French Cultural Exchange Center, L’ Espace in Hanoi from November 5-18.

The event includes a series of cultural activities, such as screenings of famous movies, a forum on the cinematic art of Romain Gary’s works, an exchange with writer David Foenkinos and his film adaptation screening, workshop on "Writing a film script from a literary work" with the participation of director Marcus Manh Cuong Vu, Do Van Hoang and Vu Hoang Diep.
One of the highlight activities is an exhibition of “Book Covers of French Novels Adapted into Movies”.

The display presents a number book covering of famous literary works already adapted to cinema, the Vietnamese edition of which are translated, including Alexandre Dumas’ The Lady of the Camellias, Gaston Leroux’s The Phantom of the Opera, Alphonse Daudet’s Little What’s-His-Name, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince, Alice Ferney’s The Elegance of Widows, Anna Gavalda’s Hunting and Gathering, David Foenkinos’ Delicacy, Pierre Lemaitre’s The Great Swindle, and Romain Gary’s The Life Before Us.
