German guitar duo to perform in City

The German guitar duo, twin brothers Peter and Zoltán Katona, with their virtuosic guitar music will give a performance in the framework of the European Music Festival 2013 at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music on November 24.

The Katona Twins and artists of the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera will present to music lovers masterpieces by Isaac Albeniz, Johann Sebastian Bach and Manuel de Fallas.

The twins have won several international prizes at major competitions in Great Britain, USA, Germany, France and Hungary.

They have given recitals in major concert venues throughout the world including performances at the New York Carnegie Hall, the Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall in London and also captivated the audience in concert halls in Berlin, Cologne and Frankfurt.

Whether they play Michael Jackson or Piazzolla, Queen, Bach or Led Zepplin, the Katona Twins effortlessly transfer from strictly classical into more popular musical genres. The guitar duo is known as one of the world’s best in classical music.

The performance previously took place at the Youth Theater in Hanoi on November 22.

The European Music Festival featuring musical diversity has been an important cultural bridge between Europe and Vietnam.
