A concert featuring German jazz artist Michael Schiefel will be held at the Hoa Sen Univeristy in Ho Chi Minh City on November 8.
The perfromance entitled “My Home is my Tent” will present his interactive sound landscape, based on five moods and inspired by his former stay in Vietnam. Together with musician and media expert Fabian Bronner he will create a playful and moving acoustic installation.
He traveled to Hanoi and HCM City for performance in the Europe Days in Vietnam in May.
Michael Schiefel is an exception, not only in the German Jazz scene but also on stage. As a singer, he experiments with his distinctive bright and sometimes smoky voice with electronic loop devices, so that he ends up singing in a choir made up solely of himself.
He studied Vocal Jazz at the UdK Berlin and works as a singer, composer and sound artist. In addition to his concert career throughout the world, he works especially on the combination of vocal improvisation with loops and other electronics. Since 2001 Michael Schiefel has worked as a Professor of vocal improvisation at the Weimar School of Music "Frank Liszt".
Fabian Bronner founded his own music production company with a focus on orchestral recordings while he was still in school. Since then, he conducts research in the areas of sound, lighting and image, for which he received the 2012 Award of the Federal Chancellor at Europe's largest talent competition of science “Jugend forscht”. Since then Bronner has been involved in the promotion of young talents and he currently studies Computer Engineering in Paderborn.
