Gigantic Banh Chung Takes Long Journey to Ancestral Land

The gigantic banh chung (square glutinous-rice cake) made by the team at Dam Sen Park in Ho Chi Minh City went on a 1,800-kilometer trip to Phu Tho Province yesterday for the upcoming anniversary of King Hung’s death.

For the anniversary of King Hung’s death on the tenth day of the third lunar month (April 26 this year), the same team at Dam Sen Park will create another gigantic banh chung.

After offerings are made to the gods, the cake will be shared among the park’s many visitors.
