Produced with a special firing process unique to Bau Truc, each set comprises a teapot measuring 1.5 meters from top to bottom and 800 millimeters across, a 500 by 400-millimeter cup, and a 700mm-wide plate.

The sets were made to order for the Hai Yih Coffee, Tea and Spice Processing and Export Company in Da Lat, the capital of Lam Dong Province, and will go on public display at the Tea Culture Festival in Lam Dong from December 21 to 24.

Ms. Ha Thuy Linh from Hai Yih says the display will include a 2.5 by 1.2-meter wooden tea caddy also made to order for her firm.

Vying for another record, the company is to organize a tea break for 2,000 people at the same time. For this purpose the company  has prepared 50 kilograms of O Long tea at a cost of VND1 million per kilo and ordered 3,000 teacups from the Bat Trang pottery village outside Ha Noi so that none of the festival’s visitors need go without a cuppa.
