Ha Tinh to kick off Nguyen Du Culture & Tourism Week

The 2015 Nguyen Du Culture and Tourism Week is scheduled to take place at Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province from November 15 to December 5, marking the 250th birthday anniversary of the great Vietnamese poet Nguyen Du, announced the People’s  Committee of Ha Tinh yesterday.
During the ceremony, many activities will be organized such as displaying the tale of Kieu (Truyen Kieu in Vietnamese), poem recitals and literary masterpieces by Nguyen Du which  translated into more than 20 languages; screening documentary films about Nguyen Du’s life, career and family; and organizing the award ceremony of the sixth Nguyen Du Literature and Arts.
The great Vietnamese poet Nguyen Du was born in 1765 in Tien Dien village, Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh who was recognized as one of the world’s cultural celebrities by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for his the tale of Kieu and literary masterpieces.
