Hanoi hosts 2nd International Watercolor Biennale

The 2nd International Watercolor Biennale which is co-organized by the International Watercolor Society in Vietnam (IWS) and Hanoi Museum opened on October 23.

The exhibition displays 217 artworks by 216 watercolor artists from 45 countries in the world, including paintings of famous watercolor artists, such as Uruguayan-Australian artist Alvaro Castagnet, Liu Yi and Amit Kapoor.
The event includes painting performances on October 23 and 27 with the participation of the President of International Watercolor Society, Turkish-Canadian artist Atanur Dogan together with international and local artists, Alvaro Castagnet, Liu Yi, Amit Kapoor, Mai Nguyen, Bui Duy Khanh, Yuko Nagayama, Helidon Haliti, Myint Naing, Lafe, Zeze Lai, Besnik Xhemali, Binh Chu, Chow Chin Chuan, Thu Huong Nguyen, Jansen Chow, Agus Budyanto, Subin Muang Chan, Liu Xi De, Ho Hung, Doan Van Toi, Thuy Duong, Hoang Vo, Nguyen Thuy Anh, Truong Van Ngoc, Toan Nguyen, Megha Kapoor, Maneerat Skirampa, Win Xin Lin, Chiayee Lam.
On October 25 in Cat Ba Island off the northern port city of Hai Phong, nearly 100 artists of the exhibition will join hands to create a 40-meter long painting which is expected to be regarded as the longest watercolor painting in the country.
The exhibition at Hanoi Museum runs until November 15.
