HCM City: entertainment programs for New Year’s Eve

Many entertainment venues citywide are busy and crowded with fun and exciting activities and entertainment programs to welocome New Year holidays.

Streets in the heart of the city will be decorated with the art lighting system, such as Truong Son, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Nguyen Van Troi, Le Loi, Le Duan, Dong Khoi, Pham Ngoc Thach, Nguyen Hue, Pasteur, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Vo Van Kiet and more.

Like previous seasons, many art performances will be held on December 31 and January 1 in Gia Dinh Park in Go Vap District, the municipal Youth’s Cultural House, universities, schools and industrial zones.

Many sport and cultural activities will be also oragizned at cultural centers in districts, Tan Phu, Binh Tan, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Nga Ba Giong Memorial Area of Heroic Martyrs in Hoc Mon, Ben Duoc Memorial Temple in Cu Chi, the National Cultural and Historical Park in District 9, Can Thanh Park in Can Gio, and others.

A countdown party on New Year's Eve in Nguyen Hue walking street and others entertainment areas presenting exciting and interesting atmosphere and a lot of bustling activities will be also rendezvous for locals and tourists in Ho Chi Minh City during the holidays.

In addition, the annual special concert titled VTV New Year Concert will be broadcast live on VTV channel on January 1, 2017 by Vietnam Television.

This year’s event themed Hay yeu nhau di (Let’s love each other) will feature leading singers in the country, such as Thanh Lam, Quang Dung, Ho ngoc Ha, My Tam, Thu Minh, Thu Phuong, Tung Duong, Uyen Linh, Ha Anh Tuan, Doan Trang and among.

The great Russian actress Zinaida Kiriyenko, starred in many famous films such as And Quiet Flows the Don (1957) and Fate of a Man (1959), will attend the concert as a special guest.

The show will have spectacular visual effects used in motion pictures that will be implemented by talented staff members. The stage uses 3D projection technology to create a virtual-reality room in which the artists perform as well as making a splendid space, said Director Do Thanh Hai.
