HCMC Gets State-Of-The-Art Film Studio

A Vietnam-Korea joint venture has set up the most modern film studio yet seen in Vietnam. More than VND10 billion has been invested in the new facility in Ho Chi Minh City by Vifa Film Company, CJ Media Production of South Korea, Ho Chi Minh City Choice Center, and the Ho Chi Minh City Cinema and Theater College.

The indoor section in District 2 has two studios with state-of-the-art lighting and sufficient space to film 15 scenes at the same time. It takes up 4,000 square meters.

The outdoor set in District 9 covers 1.5 hectares and contains streets, alleys, cinemas, coffee shops, tailor shops and other standard settings.

Scenes for the television series “Mui Ngo Gai” (The Scent of Eryngium Foetidum), produced by FNC Media Group, CJ Media from South Korea and a Vietnamese company, are being filmed at the new studio.
