HCMC opens the 24th Fine Arts Exhibition of Region 6

The 24th HCMC-region 6 Fine Arts Exhibition which is co-organized by the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, the HCMC Fine Arts Association and the HCMC Fine Arts Museum opened in the city on August 6.

Exhibits include paintings, graphic works, sculptures and installations in various materials such as oil paint, lacquer, silk, wood carving, watercolor and stone. Latest artworks which were created from August, 2918 to July, 2019 reflect the landscape and daily activities of people in the country’s regions. Subjects of sea and island, environment, armed forces and modern weapons are the most interests.
This year’s exhibition attracted a total entry of 146 works of 93 authors in the region. The jury selected 109 artworks of 89 authors for exhibition. Of these, there are 84 works of 59 authors who are members of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.
The event aiming at marking the 74th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2) will run until August 15 at the HCMC Fine Arts Museum.
