The HCM City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO) will celebrate the 22nd anniversary of its first performance with a gala concert at the HCM City Opera House today.

The concert will feature works by French composer Camille Saint Saens and Czech composer Antonin Dvorak.
Nguyễn Hữu Khôi Nam, a solo violinist with the Orchestre National de France since 1997, will perform Saint Saens’ Violin Concerto in B Minor, op. 61.
Nam, 41, studied violin at the HCM City Conservatory. He graduated from the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatory of Music and the Paris National Conservatory of Music in violin and chamber music.
He has been a regular guest artist at many concerts in Europe and Asia.
Nam, who is one of the founders of the trio Turina and the quartet Impresa, won first prize at the National Chamber Music Competition in Paris.
Nam has also performed in concerts with the Việt Nam National Symphony Orchestra and HBSO.
The concert will feature Dvorak’s Carnival Overture, op. 92, B169 and Symphony No 7 in D Minor, op. 70, B141 with the HBSO Symphony Orchestra.
Trần Vương Thạch, HBSO’s director, will conduct the concert.
The performance will begin at 8pm at 7 Lam Sơn Square in District 1. Tickets are available at the box office.
