Ho Chi Minh City Youth Workers Support Center under the HCMC Youth League will organize a group wedding for 120 couples on December 12.
Low-income workers who cannot afford to hold private weddings and those working in industrial zones across the City will be married to their respective partners in this organized group wedding.
This year, couples from neighboring provinces like Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ben Tre, Long An, Tien Giang, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Can Tho and Gia Lai will also be part of the wedding ceremony.
Each couple will enjoy a full wedding ceremony, complete with cars, cakes, flowers, rings, photographs, costumes, makeup, and a parade around the City downtown area, and also take back a gift of VND2 million (US$100) via a bank account.
Moreover, 10 couples who are the most disadvantaged will be gifted with a pair of diamond rings worth VND8 million each.
Furthermore, young brides and grooms will have a chance to take part in a training class to learn about family life before the wedding, as well as a two day one night trip to Can Gio beach as a honeymoon gift.
In addition, a Group Wedding Club has been established that will offer a place for old and new couples to exchange their experiences.
Last year, the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Workers Support Center held a group wedding for 80 couples.
