The two-day celebrations – on Friday and Saturday – will see a painting exhibition titled “Landscapes and Four Seasons” and featuring works by Japanese painter Goto Katsumi.
There will be seminars on restoring the Hoi An ancient town and its Chua Cau Bridge, folk games, Japanese tea ceremonies, calligraphy and martial arts from the two nations, a food fair, and other events.
The festival will be organized by the Hoi An People’s Committee in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency and Sakai City.
The organizers said the annual event with its diverse cultural and social activities would promote mutual understanding and friendship between the nations and development of political, economic, social, educational, scientific and technical cooperation.
