Hue prepares for its biggest int’l event

Hue ancient capital and other localities in Thua Thien- Hue Province have completed preparations for the Hue Festival 2016 which will take place from April 29 to May 4.

The streets are plastered with posters to promote the event. People adorn their homes with decorations for the biggest cultural event in the province.

Meanwhile the craftsmen are in a hurry to finish their works in My Xuyen wood carving traditional craft village in Phong Dien District.

This year’s event themed “710 years of Thuan Hoa, Phu Xuan, Thua Thien – Hue, Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development’ has attracted 34 art troupes of 18 countries, such as France, Belgium, Russia, the UK, Denmark, Poland, China, South Korea, Japan, Israel, Sri Lanka, Australia, the US, Mexico, Colombia and among.

The 9th Hue Festival featuring Buddhist ritual music and dance for the first time is expected to attract a large number of devotees, according to the organization board.

As an international event, the festival will offer a number of cultural activities presenting Hue royal art and folk art, including “Dem Hoang Cung” (Royal Night), street festival, exhibitions on Hue’s art of kite flying and calligraphy, a concert marking musician Trinh Cong Son's death anniversary.
