Chan Tran Co., Ltd. has gained permission from the Ministry of Culture and Information to produce the first Viet Nam edition of the Manhunt competition for aspiring male models.
Manhunt has been around for quite some time, since 1987 in fact, and several Vietnamese men have competed in it abroad, among them Binh Minh and Quang Hoa.
These days it draws contestants from 50 countries. Its stated purpose is to find new male faces for the modeling and fashion industry.
For Manhunt Viet Nam, the contestants must be single Vietnamese men between the ages of 18 and 27 who live here and have a high school education at least.
Eligible bachelors who have won similar contests before will be able to skip the initial stages.
The compulsory categories in the local edition are national costume, dinner suit, casual wear and behavior. Whoever shines the most will get a place in next year’s Manhunt International in Seoul, Korea.
Head organizer Mr. Huu Chan says Manhunt Viet Nam will be a good opportunity to make this land and its people better known in the world, and even more so if Viet Nam gets to host Manhunt International down the track, preferably in the not-too-distant future.
Budding male models should register with Chan Tran Ltd. by September 1. The northern qualifying round starts on November 15 and the southern on November 28.
