Model fined for skimpy costume on catwalk

Model Vo Hoang Yen exposes breasts on catwalk performance that is later fined for violating flouting decency law

Model Vo Hoang Yen and the organizer of the show titled ‘Dam Me Hoi Tu-Huong Sac Vietnam 2012’, were summoned on December 24 to give a written statement of their wrongdoings in flouting decency law at a recent catwalk performance in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vo Trong Nam, deputy director of the HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said the model would receive a fine for her performance in which she exposed a large part of her breasts at the show on December 20 at 4Q House on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street.

The skimpy outfit that she wore had not been shown at the rehearsal to censor agencies, prior to the real show.

Yen may be fined around VND3.5 million (US$168.03) while Cuoc Song Nang Dong Company, the show’s organizer, could also receive a penalty of upto VND7.5 million ($360).

Furthermore, inspectors from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism are still considering whether the violation was intentional as part of the act, in which case their will be other sanctions imposed as well.
