Mozart's ‘The Magic Flute’ premiered in City

The opera ‘The Magic Flute’, one of three most famous works by Mozart-- the greatest musical prodigy in history of world music, will be presented to music lovers at the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House on November 9-10.

The show will be performed by internationally famous opera singers including tenor Magnus Staveland, baritone Halvor F. Melien and soprano Hege G. Tjonn, Vietnamese soloists Ngoc Tuyen and Thu Huong and Duy Linh.

Artists from the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) will also join the performance under the baton of Norwegian maestro Magnus Loddgard.

‘The Magic Flute’ was premiered in Vienna and conducted by Mozart in 1791. It tells a love story between Prince Tamino and Princess Pamina, good and evil, passion and will.

Since its premiere, ‘The Magic Flute’ has always been one of the most beloved works in the operatic repertoire, and is presently the fourth most frequently performed opera worldwide.
