National Young Fine Arts Festival 2014 opens in Hanoi

The 3rd National Young Fine Arts Festival 2014 featuring 112 art works opened in Hanoi on August 20.

The exhibits were selected from 762 entries submitted by more than 100 artists aged between 18 and 35 years of age from across the country.

The event aims to to encourage the artists’ creativity and diversification of materials, and honor artworks reflecting contemporary life through the lenses of young Vietnamese artists, said Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vuong Duy Bien at the opening ceremony

The festival, organised every three years by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Vietnam University of Fine Arts will honor winning entries with one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes.

The exhibition will run until September 5.
