Opera singers to raise roof

Voices will take center stage on May 19, as the Ho Chi Minh City Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) will perform opera at the Saigon Opera House, District 1.

In the first half of the show, the HBSO’s opera singers will raise their voices to perform popular favorites from beloved operas, including Rigoletto and La Traviata, by Verdi, Norma, by Bellini, and Porgy and Bess, by Gershwin.
The second half will be led by violinist Nguyen Huu Nguyen, from the Orchestra Nationale de France, and HBSO’s orchestra, conducted by Tran Vuong Thach.
The selected works are Carnival Overture, by Dvorak, and Violin Concerto in E Minor, by Mendelssohn.

Tickets are on sale at the Saigon Opera House Box Office: VND200,000 (US$11) – VND150,000 ($9).
