Photo exhibition on Vietnamese capitals held in Hanoi, Hue

A photo exhibition on Hanoi and Hue at night is being held at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi from April 14-23.

Sebastien Laval, a Poitiers, France-based photographer with close ties to Vietnam dating back to the early 1990s presents his 30 photographs that illuminate Hanoi and Hue from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Laval was introduced to photography as a young man inspired by his grandfather in Paris. He visited Vietnam for the first time in the early 1990s to take photos on the lives of ethnic minorities, and exhibited these works at Hue Festival in 2008 and 2010.

He will release a new book, entitled ‘Hue: City of Crying Stones’, featuring photos, poetry and commentary by Vietnamese scholars.

Pictures will then go on display at the Art Vietnam Gallery in Hanoi and  MGallery La Residence Hue Hotel & Spa in Hue April 29 – May 4.
