Pop star Dong Nhi wins Best Southeast Asian Act at MTV EMA

Vietnamese pop star Dong Nhi has become the winner of the Best Southeast Asia Act at the 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) .

The 2016 MTV EMAs was held at the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on November 6, early on Monday morning Vietnam time.

Dong Nhi triupmed over strong nominees from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

Nhi started her music career in 2007 and is a popular singer amongst Vietnamese youths.

Previously, the 28-year-old singer was awarded the Best Asian Artist 2015 at the Annual Mnet Asian Music Awards 2015 (MAMA 2015) organized in Hong Kong (China).

The MTV Europe Music Awards are presented by MTV Networks Europe. Since 2007, the winners are chosen by the viewers and fans by visiting the EMAs' website.The first EMAs ceremony was held in 1994 in Berlin, Germany.
