Specific Brand Name of Vietnamese Festival to Be Built

Hue Festival 2006 with nine days featuring quintessence of art and culture of the land of Thuan Hoa- Phu Xuan- Thua Thien Hue has successfully concluded. The Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper had an interview with Mr. Ngo Hoa, deputy chairman of the People’s Committee of Thua Thien-Hue Province, head of the organizing board of Hue Festival 2006 about the preparation of the festival.

Reporter: What did the festival succeeded in?

Mr. Ngo Hoa: According to a French expert, Hue Festival 2006 succeeded in being the largest-scale, had the most impressive programs which generated the most interest in the province’s people and visitors.
Hue Festival 2006 has assembled 44 Vietnamese and foreign art troupes, hundreds of artists and 130 art performances, trade fairs and conferences in Hue City and adjacent areas.

Reporter: What did the organizing board learned from Hue Festival 2006?

Mr. Ngo Hoa: Experience of organizing a professional festival is most important. We will transfer the results that Hue Festival 2006 attained to other provinces and cities in nationwide.

To build the specific brand name of Vietnamese festival in general and Hue in particular, we need to determine the major factors.

Besides, the choice of sponsors, construction of infrastructure and raising the quality of service, we should build a team of professionals to prepare for the next festival.

The other success was the exchanges and integration of cultures between domestic and foreign art troupes that have left deep impression on visitors. So, Hue Festival 2006 became interesting and attractive festival of culture and tourism.

All of people should take part in the activities of the festival. The collection and restoration of ancient traditional cultural values will contribute to the diversification of programs in the festival.  If we can do that, I believe Hue Festival will continue to flourish and become the driving force for socioeconomic development.
