Tien Giang’s boy wins Vietnam Idol Kid 2016

Ho Van Cuong, 13, from the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang, won the first season of the singing reality show, Vietnam Idol Kid 2016 that ended in Ho Chi Minh City on July 17.

Ho Van Cuong, Gia Khiem, Bao Tran and Jayden amazed audiences with their talent in the final night.

Cuong triumphed over his competitors with his sweet and emotional voice. He received more than 200,000 votes, a total of 59.2 percent of the votes. The winner got a cash prize of VND200 million.

Bao Tran was at second place with 23.78 percent and the third positions went to Jayden and Gia Khiem.

Aired on VTV3 Channel three months ago, the Vietnam Idol Kid 2016 attracted thousands of contestants aged from 5 to 13 in the qualifying rounds held in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang last March.

Among the jury were singers Isaac, Van Mai Huong and Toc Tien.
