An exhibition organized by the Can Tho City museum and the Museum of Vietnamese History opened Tuesday in Can Tho to display over 400 objects taken from five ancient shipwrecks.

The objects, culled from ancient shipwrecks in Quang Nam, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Kien Giang, Binh Thuan, and Ca Mau provinces, are vivid evidence asserting the presence of the Silk Road vessels in Vietnamese territorial waters and probable cultural exchanges between regional people from the 15th to the 18th centuries.

The exhibition will be on display until the middle of December 2006.
