Viet Nam Fine Arts Association Celebrates Golden Jubilee

The Viet Nam Fine Arts Association was given the Gold Star Order by Government at a ceremony marking its golden jubilee in Ha Noi yesterday.

The Viet Nam Fine Arts Association was bestowed the Gold Star Order by Goverment.

“The association’s membership has increased from 108 in 1957 to more than 1,770 to date. The State and Party highly appreciate artists’ valued roles in building Vietnam’s national culture”, said Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan.

DPM Nhan urged artists to keep creating wondrous works and make a positive contribution to the cause of national development.

Over half a century, the Viet Nam Fine Arts Association has had eighteen members awarded Ho Chi Minh prizes. Fifty-one have received the State prize for literature and arts, ten have been honored as the People’s Artists and 12 have been elected to the National Assembly in first to twelfth legislatures.

A concert celebrated the golden jubilee at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music yesterday.

The ceremony was attended by Former President Le Duc Anh, Former Vice President Truong My Hoa, Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan, Chairman of Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front Pham The Duyet and hundreds of members of the association.
