Vietnam Reading Festival comes to Hanoi

The first Vietnam Reading Festival with the theme “Reading for tomorrow” was held at the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) in Hanoi yesterday.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Library in response to the UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day on April 23.

Many activities were hosted at the festival like competition in the art of arranging books and discussions on favorite books.

Thousands of people lined up for books including “Nhung tam long cao ca” (Noble hearts), “Timua va dong doi” (Timua and comrades), “Ngo Bao Chau-Mot tai nang toan hoc” (Ngo Bao Chau-A math’s genius).

The festival also featured an exchange with literature critic Pham Xuan Nguyen on the reading culture in Vietnam.
