Vietnamese film honored at AIFFA Award 2017

The film, “Dao cua dan ngu cu” (The Island of Aliens or The Way Station) by director Hong Anh won three prizes at the ASEAN International Film Festival & Awards (AIFFA Award) 2017 in Malaysia on May 6.

The film was honored with the “Best film” Award and also won “Best Actor” for Pham Hong Phuoc and “Best Director of Photography” for People’s Artists Ly Thai Dung. 
The Way Station is adapted from writer Do Phuoc Tien’s story titled “Dao cua dan ngu cu” (The Island of Aliens)
The film depicts the confusion and uncertainty of the characters in their journey to look for happiness and the meaning of life.
The movie will be presented at the Vietnam Night on May 20 at the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival which is scheduled to be held from May 17 to 28; and also screened at the Vietnamese film week in Spain on May 23-25.
The Way Station will be released in cinemas throughout the country in this Fall.
