Vietnamese painter presents artworks in Canada

Vietnamese painter Dinh Thi Tham Poong presented her artworks at an exhibition at the East Gallery in Toronto in Canada on June 12-July 14.

The artist’s paintings are deeply influenced by her Muong ethnic minority roots and her childhood growing up in a remote mountainous region on the border between Vietnam and China.

She uses vivid images, striking contrasts and intricate patterns to show her strong connection to her roots. Her poetic watercolors on ‘Dzo’ handmade paper are almost surreal, erasing boundaries between humans and nature.

She is one of Vietnam’s most successful contemporary artists and has had 17 international exhibitions in Berlin, New York, London, Miami, Tokyo, Helsinki and Manila in the last 15 years.
