Vietnamese rockers to join ASEAN fest

The “Buc Tuong” (The Wall) rock band will represent Vietnamese youth to perform at the ASEAN Youth Cultural Exchange Festival 2011 (AYCEF 2011) scheduled for Jakarta , Indonesia from April 30 to May 2.

During the festival, the five-member band will sing a song in the style of Vietnamese folk music named “Ra Khoi” (Go out to sea), “Neu em hieu” (If you understand) composed by the band, and “I will come”, a English version of the song “Anh se den”.

Established in Hanoi in March 1995, Buc Tuong is one of the celebrated hardrock band in Vietnam with more than 30 Hardrock and Metal songs.

The band has won many domestic and international prizes, including the excellent band award in the SV 96 Vietnam Television top five student bands, the most impressive band award by the Vietnam Student Magazine in 1996 and the excellent band award at Visages Francophones Festival – Cahors 2003.

Themed “the ASEAN Community in the World Community”, the AYCEF 2011 aims to better understanding about ASEAN member nations through musical exchanges.

The festival will also offer an opportunity to tighten the friendship between ASEAN countries and ASEAN young generations.
