Three dozen philatelists from across Viet Nam’s southern half contributed more than 8,000 of their precious stamps for a special exhibition at the War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City on Tuesday.
Called “War and Aspiration for Peace through Postage Stamps”, the show was arranged by the HCMC Stamp Association, the HCMC Post Office and museum for the 61st anniversary of the August Revolution.
The collectors brought their contributions from as far away as An Giang and Can Tho in the southwest and Gia Lai and Lam Dong in the Central Highlands. There was also a sizeable contingent from Ho Chi Minh City as well as nearby Dong Nai and Binh Duong.
The stamps on display depicted the heroic struggles of the resistance movement and expressed the Vietnamese people’s desire for peace.
