“Zeng” weaving recognized as national intangible cultural heritage

The People’s Committee of A Luoi district and the Culture, Sports and Tourism Department of Thua Thien- Hue province  yesterday co- held a solemn ceremony to receive a certification for recognizing “Zeng” weaving of Ta Oi ethnic people as the national intangible cultural heritage.

“Zeng” weaving of Ta Oi ethnic people was recognized as the national intangible cultural heritage.

At the ceremony, the Thua Thien- Hue People’s Committee also certificated for the organizations and individuals who actively contributed or involved in preserving and completing nomination documentary for “Zeng” weaving to be the national intangible cultural heritage.

Chairman of the People’s Committee of A Luoi district Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung said that “Zeng” weaving is a traditional craft of Ta Oi ethnic people, which is one of five ethnic groups in the locality.
