The dormitory will provide more than 500 rooms for disadvantaged students to study at Can Tho University.

Around  3,000 students of Hau Giang Province are currently pursuing higher education at the Can Tho University; however, they have no proper accommodation and have to stay with fellow students in rented premises.

Hau Giang is the last province in the Mekong delta to build a dormitory, for its students to study at Can Tho University.
