Bayer Names Two Students Environmental Ambassadors

Two Vietnamese students have been chosen as this year’s Bayer Environmental Ambassadors for a trip to Germany together with their counterparts from several other countries.

Hai Yen (L) and Huong Ly

Le Thi Hai Yen of the HCMC Foreign Trade University and Ngo Huong Ly of the Ha Noi University of Natural Sciences were selected from hundreds of entries for this year’s program themed “Solution for reducing CO2 emissions.”

Fifteen students and youths were nominated based on essays they submitted on environmental protection for a cash prize of VND2 million each.

The German chemical giant also organized many other activities for them, including an ecotourism camp in Madagui near Da Lat and discussions on protecting the environment.

Yen and Ly, the top two, will go to Leverkusen in Germany next November together with ambassadors from India, China, Thailand, Korea, Singapore, Poland, Turkey and other nations.

Established in 2006, the program is organized by Bayer Vietnam, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee, and Ho Chi Minh City Department for environmental protection.
