City Needs 1,500 Teachers as School Year Begins

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training will arrange work for nearly 2,800 graduates who passed the civil service examination in academic year 2008 – 2009. However, the city needs almost 1,500 more.

HCM City is seeking more than 4,200 teachers in the 2008-2009 school year.

The needed ones including 470 primary school teachers, 469 middle school teachers, and 354 high school teachers. Teachers are also needed by technical secondary schools. This is a big problem for the city’s education.

The Department of Education and Training will recruit new teachers in the beginning of September.

Successful candidates will receive their letters of introduction at the Tran Dai Nghia High School on Aug. 26 and 27. The Department of Education and Training of each district will receive new teachers on August 28 and the school year will begin on Sept. 5.
