Reporter: Which leaves you deep impression in this competition?

Phan Xuan Bien: That is the heart of the peole to the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the heroic city namely Ho Chi Minh City. The overwhelming support from the public proves that the competition did meet the expectation and inmost feelings of all officers, Party members and residents in Ho Chi Minh City.

Stories and photographs in the exam papers reflected not only large knowledge but also the strong loyalty of the inhabitants to the city.

Beside having correct answers and detailed analysis, many exam papers expressed deep admirations for hundreds of heroes who had devoted the whole life and happiness to the city in many stages.

Heroes described in the papers may be self-sacrificing women or devoted persons whose works or achievements play an important role in the development of Ho Chi Minh City - the heroic city.

Older generations’ achievements are honorable, which we are doing our utmost to maintain.

Reporter: How did candidates portray the image of Ho Chi Minh City?

Phan Xuan Bien: I must say that the information provided in over 360,000 papers partly depict the image of Ho Chi Minh City, the city with more than 300 years of cultivation, building and development .

Successive generations growing up in solidarity do make creative changes that has lifted the city’s status to Viet Nam’s biggest city. Even more, Ho Chi Minh City is regarded as an emerging hub for economic, cultural and scientific improvements; holding a leading political position in the country.

The city made great contribution to the resistance wars’ victory, especially since the establishment of Communist Party.

Since its early founding amid the war, the Communist Party proved its excellent leadership in working with the people in fighting against the enemy to notch up glorious victories and go down in Viet Nam’s history.

Ho Chi Minh City is proud to be the place seeing off beloved Uncle Ho, a famous Vietnamese revolutionary.

The city, conducting the socialist revolution for over 30 years, has scored roaring successes. Those achievements have affirmed the right track in reform process led by the Communist Party, in which the city has made a great contribution.

The city promises to further improve the fruits of our work in a bid to lead the industrialization and modernization process, gaining initiative in the economic globalization.

Reporter: What do you think about the contributive comments of residents to Ho Chi Minh City authorities?

Phan Xuan Bien: All the papers showed wholehearted opinions, which are very useful and practical for the development of Ho Chi Minh City.

All of them have placed great trust in the leadership of the Party, pointing out the weakness and irresponsibility of some officials in the country such as the corruption of some high-ranking officials, waste of time and money in some national projects. Those are done in a bid to gain bigger achievements for the country.

Reporter: What is the biggest success of the competition?

Phan Xuan Bien: Obviously, good qualities of Vietnamese, precise guidance of the Party and excellent leadership of Uncle Ho clinch the notable victory of the city in the past time.

Resident in Ho Chi Minh City is always willing to devote to the wealth and stability of the nation for good. That is the significant result with comprehensive meaning of education.

This competition, a political activity for public, wins the great support from all officials, Party members and the youth.

The event attracted largest number of participants and exam papers in comparison with previous competitions.
